Author Guidelines

The Journal of Recent Innovations in Computer Science and Technology (JRICST) publishes original, high-quality, and previously unpublished research articles, review papers, and case studies in all areas of Computer Science and Technology. Authors are requested to carefully read and follow these guidelines to ensure smooth processing of manuscripts.

1. Manuscript Preparation

Structure

  • Title Page (separate file)

    • Article title
    • Full names of all authors
    • Affiliations and ORCID IDs
    • Corresponding author’s email address
    • Acknowledgments, funding details, and conflict of interest statements
  • Main Manuscript (anonymized)
    Should not contain any author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or identifying information. Use neutral terms (e.g., “the author” instead of “we”).

  • Recommended Sections (for research articles):

    • Title
    • Abstract (150–250 words)
    • Keywords (4–6 terms)
    • Introduction
    • Literature Review (if applicable)
    • Methodology
    • Results and Discussion
    • Conclusion
    • References (APA or IEEE style preferred)

Formatting

  • File type: MS Word (.docx)
  • Layout: Single-column, A4 size, margins 1 inch
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing
  • Equations: Use equation editors such as MathType; ensure symbols are clear
  • Figures & Tables: High resolution (≥300 dpi), numbered consecutively with captions, inserted near first mention
  • Word Count: Minimum 3000 words
  • Page Limit: 6–15 pages included in APC; maximum of 20 pages with over-length charges (INR 2,000/page or USD 100/page)

2. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the online submission system
  • Hard copy submissions will not be accepted.
  • Before submission, ensure plagiarism check (<10% similarity, Turnitin recommended) and confirm no AI-generated text or images have been used.

Similarity Policy

  • Above 30% → Reject
  • 10–30% → Sent back for revision
  • Below 10% → Sent for peer review

3. Peer Review Policy

  • JRICST follows a double-blind peer review process.
  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
  • Authors should:
    • Remove all identifying details from the manuscript and metadata.
    • Avoid self-identifying phrases.
  • Review timeline: Typically 6–8 weeks.
  • Final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewer reports.

4. Ethical Policies

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • All authors must have made a significant contribution to the research.
  • Funding and conflict of interest disclosures must be included on the Title Page.
  • Authors must disclose sources of data used.
  • Research involving humans or animals must include an ethical compliance statement.

Generative AI Policy

  • Use of Generative AI/LLMs for writing any part of the manuscript, abstract, results, or literature review is not permitted.
  • AI tools may be used only for:
    • Language improvement (with disclosure)
    • Assisting in analysis (not reporting results)
  • Images generated by AI tools are not accepted.

5. Retraction & Corrections

  • Articles may be retracted in cases of:
    • Plagiarism
    • Duplicate publication
    • Unethical research or data fabrication
    • Legal or copyright violations
  • Retractions are clearly marked and linked to the original article.
  • Corrections (up to 20% of manuscript content) may be requested during the post-acceptance process.

6. Copyright & Licensing

  • JRICST publishes under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
  • Authors retain copyright but grant JRICST the right of first publication.
  • This license permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

7. Archiving & Accessibility

  • All published articles are preserved through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) using LOCKSS technology.
  • Authors are encouraged to self-archive preprints and postprints in institutional or subject repositories.

8. Author Responsibilities

  • Proofreading: Authors are responsible for correcting errors at the proof stage.
  • Co-author policy: All authors must approve submission; changes to authorship after acceptance are not permitted (except in exceptional cases approved by the Editor).
  • Abbreviations: Define at first mention and use consistently.
  • Self-citations: Limited to 2–3 per article. Excessive self-citation is discouraged.

9. Checklist Before Submission

  • Manuscript anonymized (no author details in main file)
  • Title Page prepared separately with full author details, funding, and conflicts of interest
  • Plagiarism report <10% similarity
  • No AI-generated content or images used
  • Figures and tables properly labeled and cited
  • References formatted correctly (APA/IEEE)
  • Ethical statement included if applicable
  • APC policy reviewed
